I was in my weight lifting class last night and this
song by Kelly Clarkson was playing. I was listening to the lyrics and was
thinking of what I may hide from others. How many of us are afraid to
show our "dark side" -- those things we define as "bad" or
"wrong" -- so we are loved? Or so we don't loose the love we
have?
No one is perfect, so why are we so afraid
to show we are not either. Maybe if we were willing to show more of our
flaws it would allow the other person to open up and share theirs as well.
Everyone has their past...their story -- as long as we've learned from it
we should not be ashamed of it. Life happens! We should not let the
define us. It is the past...and it has made us who we are today. We
must remind ourselves...we are pretty awesome!
As the quote below points out -- beautiful people do not just happen...
