I ventured back to my favorite little field from last summer to see if any of the wildflowers had began blooming. The clouds were intriguing last night with rays of sunlight shooting through them.  This field is right around the corner from my house - there are no buildings blocking the view of the sky.  To my surprise, there were not many flowers, but I did find this one peeking above the grasses.  I love how the stem picked up the light.

Here is another shot that is not black & white where you can see the rays of sunlight along with a silhouette of a remnant of queen anne's lace from last summer.

First trip of the year to Lake Michigan in Grand Haven.  

The beach was a little windy at first, but it was a beautiful & sunny day to enjoy relaxing by the water...

...and taking in the beautiful view of the shoreline.

{My Story} Beginnings

Here we are at May 1st already this year!  I've taken a little break from my blog and today is my first day back in a little over a month.  It's been a time of learning and growing...and definitely new beginnings.  It just so happens the prompt from 52 Photos Project is Beginnings.  Perfect.  

One of the messages that keeps emerging in my life lately is one about "our story" ~ the one we tell ourselves and everyone.  The story that defines us and our beliefs.  In turn, this has encouraged me to begin questioning a lot of my beliefs.  Wondering why I have these beliefs and if they serve me any longer.  Are they beliefs that I took on from someone else?  Are they beliefs based on past experiences?  If so, does that mean things will happen the same way just because they did in the past?  What have I learned and how have to changed to "out grow" these beliefs?  I am digging to the root of these beliefs and beginning to form new ones that resonate with my soul.

As the quote states above, we may not be able to start from the beginning again and eliminate the past, but we can start today and make a new ending.  I choose a happily ever after ending!  We are the authors of our story and we can design the life of our dreams.  We can form new beliefs that empower us.  We can believe wholeheartedly that the Universe is on our side conspiring in our favor.  If we believed just this one belief ~ that ALL is working in our favor ~ for our good ~ how would that change our perspective?  How would that change our lives...our story!  

Today, I begin making that happily ever after ending to my story.  Will you join me?

I choose this quote for this photo because of how tightly this flower's umbel holds onto its seeds.  This reminded me of how tightly we hang onto old beliefs.  This quote encourages us to let go of those old ideals and beliefs - the past - and embrace who we are - abundant, eternal, fearless and worthy of being loved.

I try to incorporate gratitude into my life everyday, but this month being Thanksgiving, I am beginning a 30 days of gratitude challenge.

Day 1 ~  I give thanks that each & every day we have the chance to start over & begin again.

...so I layered my lettering over a photo I had taken a few days ago.

The prompt for 52 Photos Project this week...CIRCLES!

First one is the wind chime hanging from my Magnolia tree in my backyard.

The second is some garden art in my backyard as well.

The third is a man hole cover that I love the yellow color & the rust together.

I truly LOVE the colors of Fall so Bella's prompt at 52 Photos Project was perfect to photograph some of the leaves just starting to turn RED...oh, and my shoes :-)

Day 201 ~ Curbside Beauty

I was taking my son to his friend's house today - this neighborhood is full of older homes with so much character & charm - which I adore!! While driving I couldn't stop staring at the flowers planted in all the turn-abouts along the street.

Just beautiful.

After dropping him off (so not to embarrass him AGAIN with my photo taking :), I couldn't resist stopping & taking a few photos - especially since summer is coming to a close & flowers are nearing the end of their season.
