{day 4:::my story}
One thing you can see by the photo -- I'm a lefty. No one ever tried to change which hand I wrote with growing up, but everyone else in my family is right handed. My teachers did try to get me to use left handed scissors, which I can't use. Of my three sons, one is a lefty...but a "full time" lefty (as I call it). I'm just a part-timer...I eat, write & do a lot of things left handed but I play all sports right handed. When I paint, half the time I have paint brushes in both hands. Although I do notice myself doing a lot of things in the kitchen right handed, but that may be because not all things are made for lefties and having right handed people teach me. When my youngest son was learning to tie his shoes, I had to have his oldest brother teach him since I did it "backwards". Maybe doing things both right & left handed kind of explains why I seem to have an analytical & creative mind.
By day, I work in accounting. A couple years ago, while going through some of my old things, I came across a test from high school that said what I "should" do in life -- it was art & accounting. :-) My day job has allowed me to provide a home & life for my three sons & myself for which I am extremely & eternally grateful! Art took a backseat for many, many years, but I am so happy that I have made it a priority in life and gained more and more creative interests (like photography). I even returned to school a few years ago to complete a residential design degree which would be my dream job -- a great mix of calculating & creativity. So, I'm crunching numbers by day & I'm dreaming about creating at night.
Like the saying goes "art is a way of escaping without running away from home".
