{the sky} 08.02.12

I have always had a fascination with the sky, but began taking photos after starting a 365 Project on Valentine's Day of 2011.  I wanted to begin taking notice of all the beauty around me {click HERE to read the post} since it is so easy to just live day to day without appreciating all that is.  I'm not sure if I was anticipating all the positive changes this would bring about in my life.

Just as loosing someone reminds you to appreciate life and truly live it; the sky causes me to pause and be in awe of it's magnificence & realize we are created with this same splendor.  Both remind us not to waste this one precious life we have now - to radiate our exquisiteness every minute we are here - to live..and to love.

A quote I love about the sky & love...

Even after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
"You owe me."
Look what happens with
A love like that.
It lights the whole sky.
~Hafiz

Recently, Connie at Dirty Footprints Studio lost a dear friend and was inspired to create a tribute to him.  She reached out to her blog community for help by asking for them to take a picture of their sky and send it to her.  She created a beautiful video of 326 different views of the sky - the same sky we all live under together - check out "Piecing Together The Sky".

The sky photo I submitted to Connie's project was in memory of my Grandmother who I had just written about in a blog post {read here}...she was a huge part of my childhood.  I was blessed to have her in my life for so long.  I will never forget her love.

Below is my video inspired by Connie's project {my first video ever}...the second set of words in the video are from a poem I wrote a few years ago that seemed to fit perfectly with my thoughts as I watched the video.  These are some of the photos of the sky that I have taken over the past year or so after starting my 365 project.

I hope you enjoy it...
