I choose this quote by Rumi as it describes the feeling I have inside of me…a yearning! I can feel my heart & soul calling for me to live wholeheartedly. This year, more than others, I have been listening to the calling to be true to myself. I have opened my heart to receive and appreciate the goodness and beauty that surrounds me each and every day. I have made an effort to live intentionally – to say yes more often – and no when necessary. I have been awed at the people, adventures and opportunities that have appeared in my life since declaring this intention.
I have always felt that I am on the right path and listening when I feel creative. My creative side had been pushed to the side for years and I have made an effort to not let that happen again. I feel in touch with my soul when I am creating art in whatever form. This year, I added a new art form - photography - and I am addicted. After beginning my 365 project on Valentine's Day, I "stumbled upon" Vivienne's Wading In course - and I've never been the same since. It was truly a blessing and perfect timing!
My heart & soul’s longing is to share my creativity with the world – to inspire others to recognize the beauty that surrounds them – inside & out. I am still searching for my unique voice, but have faith I will find it - or it will find me.
Here is a poem I wrote a couple years ago that expresses my light ~
My heart is telling me to be here now
To savor this moment as it is –
Moments of joy, moments of sorrow,
Moments of nothingness,
To relish in everyday miracles
Noticing the seemingly trivial
Along with the magnificent,
To be love & live love
By honoring my heart
Listening to its adoration,
To appreciate all in my life
For it makes me who I am;
A divinely crafted spirit
Uniquely me yet part of All
Loving witnessed by God.
This poem has been tucked away and I haven't read it in quite some time. It feels so wonderful to read these words again and know I am now following it's wisdom.

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of those that feel free in front of a camera. I'm the exact opposite...I feel awkward and self conscious... :)
Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece of your story. And I love that Rumi quote.
